A scientific color palette is a carefully selected set of colors optimized for research figures. Unlike decorative or brand palettes, scientific palettes are designed against three constraints: accessibility (legible for color-vision-deficient readers), perceptual uniformity (equal numeric steps map to equal visual steps), and reproducibility (consistent across displays, print, and grayscale handouts).
